Daniel 6:28 TLB
So Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NKJV
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Daniel is God’s encouragement to those of us who will experience some of the extraordinary difficulties of these last days. He prospered and blossomed in the most unfavorable environment. Yes, Daniel was in Babylon as a slave. But the more adverse the circumstances became, the more he thrived. Why? Daniel knew his God and trusted in Him.
Blessed, even though there’s drought. Blessed, even though the government is corrupt. Blessed, even though the atmosphere was sensual, demonic, and adversarial to his faith. Blessed, even when prayer became illegal. Blessed in the lion’s den. Blessed in the fire!
If we are not careful, fearful dread can take hold of our minds from studying the end times in Daniel. God placed Daniel in the Bible for just the opposite. Through Daniel, God is encouraging us that no matter what happens on this earth, He will be our source. Though heat and drought are killing everything around us, God will cause us to be fruitful. Trust God! Place your hope and faith in Him!
