Daniel 7:25-26 AMPC
And he shall speak words against the Most High [God] and shall wear out the saints of the Most High and think to change the time [of sacred feasts and holy days] and the law; and the saints shall be given into his hand for a time, two times, and half a time [three and one-half years]. But the judgment shall be set [by the court of the Most High], and they shall take away his dominion to consume it [gradually] and to destroy it [suddenly] in the end.
Daniel sees the spiritual war we are fighting now. The Antichrist is the king who will wage war against believers. The spirit of the antichrist will ultimately embody a man who will become a world ruler with great power and authority. This has not happened yet.
However, the spirit of the antichrist is very much alive and wars against you and me to “wear us out.” We get worn out because we’re too busy. Technology pounds our brains with too much information, and our minds get worn out. The news is 99% negative, fear-based, and wears our faith down. Guilt to be at more places, impress more people, and meet more needs (or wants) all wear us down. Hardship and disappointing circumstances create offenses towards God Himself. Add to this actual demonic oppression that can come, and we just become numb souls going through the motions we believe are expected of us.
Shake yourself! This is war! Jesus said, “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning” (Luke 12:35). The “wearing out” occurs by drenching the fire of God with things that don’t matter. Take inventory today of your own heart. Are you spiritually worn out? Unload everything that doesn’t add fuel to your lamp. Worship. Praise and thank God. Be in church. Spend time with godly friends. Pray. Fast TV, social media, toxic people, and all things that drain your spiritual life.
This is no time to have your fire dimly lit. Jesus said, “keep your lamp burning!” Let’s go!
Prayer
Father, my soul is worn down. Touch and heal me. Refresh me today, I pray. Fill me. Show me how to reorder my life, and fuel me with Your Holy Spirit and fire. I submit to You and resist the devil (James 4:7). I resist him and stand firm in my faith (1 Peter 5:9), in Jesus’ name!
